Tiger milk mushroom grows deep in Malaysia’s rainforests. Its sclerotium is buried underground and hard to find, so it has long been treated as a national treasure. Indigenous communities used it to treat cough, asthma, bronchitis and fever, and gave it as a precious gift to foreign envoys.
Legend says it grows where a tigress spilled milk while feeding her cubs. The sclerotium is white, gives a milky liquid and even tastes a little like milk.
